Our Stay 25-28 April 2018

What a gem of a hotel. A wonderful location by the water's edge with great views which are more impressive as the sun starts to rise in the morning. Table service for breakfast was a real plus and evening dinners (try the Fresh tuna 'asia' style) were excellent. And we will not forget the speciality cocktails. Thanks to all the staff (a real international team) who went out of their way to ensure that we had a wonderful albeit all too short a stay!

There's nothing to not love

Beautiful boutique property. Service was personal yet professional. The setting and design was spot on! The owner and his daughter "Tara" were at the hotel and took us out Octopus fishing. Loved the whole experience.

Boutique Hotel in Beautiful Hideaway Bay near Korcula Old Town

We (2 couples) stayed 3 nights after a week sailing the Dalmatian Coast - what a great find - good sized rooms, great high quality finishes and very attentive and friendly staff. Restaurant on beach is great for lazy days and dinners at night. Big bonus is quiet bay but very easy walk ~30 min into Korcula Old Town along the waters edge. Tara's team also have a restaurant called Silk in Old Town which is well worth a visit if you are craving some Asian inspired flavours. We all highly recommended Tara's Lodge and were sad to have to leave and return to work reality.

High quality boutique getaway near Old Town

What a find - boutique hotel on very scenic and private bay just 30 min stroll to Old Korcula Town - rooms great outlook and finishes - pool plus beach club with access to Mimi's Restaurant Bar during day. Hotel strives to offer daytime options to explore Island.

Fantastic four nights!

We had a fantastic four nights in Tara's Lodge. The hotel and setting were superb and the rooms of an excellent standard. what a view to wake up too each morning. The food was also way above the standard of most of the restaurants in Korcula. The enclosed bay and landscape reminded us of Scandinavia or cape cod. The silence was very restful. korcula town itself by contrast we found too busy which simply underlined the superb location of Taras Lodge.

Modern and new

Modern boutique hotel on the north coast of Korcula Island

We had a lovely three night stay. The Hotel was very understanding as our Catamaran from Split was cancelled due to winds - hotel arranged for transfer from alternative ferry port

Food at hotel restaurant was excellent - brekky is included and you have the choice of omelette / pancakes made to order as well as buffet
Hotel has a cosy private beach which was lovely if you want to just chillax
All in all a fantastic holiday experience

Modern upscale small hotel

I had read varying reviews lately about this small hotel and was skeptical about staying there. It was wonderful. Perhaps the arrival of a new manager has made the difference in the staff's orientation to attention to its clients but it was evident that they were trying hard to be more service oriented. The rooms were spotless- breakfast offerings were limited but all you could desire. The beachfront was perfect to be able to relax and have easy access to the sea. Korcula is a wonderful island to visit and this hotel should be high for consideration on a discerning travelers list . I would definitely stay there again if we were to return to this island

Chilled luxury, a unique concept on Dalmatia's coast

If you are looking for a traditional Dalmatian stone hotel, Tara's Lodge is not for you. If, however, you are looking for a luxury experience, set in a very chilled waterfront location, with friendly and attentive staff, spacious (and spotless) modern rooms each with a fantastic sea view, then head on over.

From the moment of arrival and complimentary welcome beer to the equally relaxed check out, the very international staff took care of every need promptly and efficiently. The beach is to die for. Do seek out Australian owner Jane for a chat - hilarious tales of life on a Dalmatian island. And do pay attention to the daily specials menu. If you are in luck and see the fig trifle with port and lime mousse, don't miss it. Great location, great staff, great atmosphere. Rarely has a hotel stay in Croatia been more enjoyable.

Pinch me! everything was perfect!

I've traveled all of Croatia thoroughly and while I have experienced many nice places, Tara's Lodge blew me away with their service, views, rooms and laid back atmosphere. Located in the most perfect bay, the Lodge provides bean bag chairs exclusively for their guests on a white pebble beach. The truth is...I didn't want to the leave the hotel and there is no need to with a pool, excellent restaurant and someone always looking after my needs. Can't wait to return to the island of Korcula (which is also worth exploring) if you can convince yourself to leave the beach! :)

lovely 5 days with the kids

I came and stayed with my 2 young children for 5 days in mid august and had a wonderful time. Lovely room (recommend getting on the second floor of a block to have a view of the sea), lovely beach with crystal clear sea plus comfy loungers, the pool was usually empty and kids got to play and make some noise, the team working there couldn't have been more helpful and the boat trip was a laugh with the capitain finding octopus. The one niggle i had with the place however was the restaurant. The breakfast was great, but i thought the prices and section for lunch (but especially dinner) didn't make it easy to "eat-in" ... especially with the kids. The food was delicious, but my suggestion would be to make a few more of the larger less expensive lunchtime options available at dinner and ideally add a few more things for the kids. Aside from that minor comment, i thought the place was wonderful, run by true professionals and I will most certainly be back if in the area.

Beutiful few weeks

Tara's lodge is situated on a stunniingly beautiful bay with still, crystal clear water which is absoltuley perfect for children as they can easily paddle board, kayak and snorkel from the beach. The pool was so quiet and we were often the only family there. Please note the current pictures on the website don't do the pool area justice as it is actually quite shaded with nice reclining chairs and a lovely area to spend time reading and swimming.

The family rooms are a perfect size, modern and comfortable with a lovely terrace overlooking the bay. We also loved using the hotel as our base for taking water taxi's to various islands and staying for lunch before returning on sunset.

Our only grievenance was the kids menu at the restaurant as we have 2 young children and the only offering was tomato pasta or on some days chicken with rice. Granted that the restaurant did offer to kindly prepare a cheese risotto for our children in 2 evenings. That aside, we absolutely loved staying at Tara's lodge and really hope we will have the chance to return another year.

Amazing experience in Tara's Lodge

Tara's lodge where we spent 4 days, is a beautiful place with professional staff and service, the room is clean and furnished with quality, especially the lovely balcony. The restaurant named Mimi's with a fantastic view, provided delicious food and beverages. Top 10 daily activities were really impressive. Very nice memories of Tara's Lodge, we would like to introduce it to our friends when they visit Korcula.

Best place in Korcula

We spent as family with 21 son and 17 years old daughter 4 days at this place and loved every moment.

The staff is super friendly, the food is devine, the breakfast is fabulous and the location is splendid.

Best of all: the rooms are the way I would design it. The bathroom is as you want it and you are served by staff who do it dedication. Yes they are paid for it but they have the extra bit of courtesy.

In Croatia this is clearly a pearl...

Very special

Little get away

We had a wonderful stay at Tara's Lodge, it was so peaceful and relaxing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us. We arrived early and had a welcome drink and chilled on the beautiful beach. They have little events and activities organized everyday which you learn about at breakfast. The rooms are very modern and so clean. We will definitely be returning. Korcula is our favorite island in Croatia by far!

Make it your No. 1 choice in Croatia

Simply excellent from the moment we arrived- this boutique hotel has got it right. It is situated in a quite, clean, stunningly beautiful Bay. We could have stayed in the beach bean bags, under umbrellas sipping cocktails forever and just loved their playlist. The rooms are clean, uncluttered and so, so comfortable. The service is second to none in Croatia, and the food is outstanding. Every room has a balcony but if you can, book an ocean view room, as some of the garden view rooms look into the back of other rooms. "Do yourself a favour" - take two nights out of your Croatian holiday and visit Tara's Lodge - Just loved it.

Blissful relaxation with the best service

We are 3 couples in our 50's. We've been travelling together and separately for 3 weeks. Last stop for the 6 of us Dubrovnik. Whilst it was fabulous it was hectic hot and hazy.

We arrived by catamaran in Kortula and fell in love. So quaint calm and engaging. Then after a quick taxi ride (5-7) minute to Tara's Lodge we were hooked.

Friends had recommended it with out saying much. We were brilliantly surprised.
It's in the top ten hotels in Croatia. Not over the top flamboyant and not like a big branded hotel. Very culturally appropriate as my daughter would say yet sophisticated, stylish and welcoming.

Rooms are bright airy and modern. They are small by Australian standards but adequate with lovely sliding doors to a veranda. Comfortable beds. Very very clean and fresh. Great linen. Nice airy bathroom.

We had a room with little view. It was still nice but if a water view is available and affordable! Go for it. I spent most of my time on the beach so the room was not important to me on this stay.

Breakfast was fabulous. Fresh orange juice, coffee, cooked and cold offer. Beach cafe offers great lunches and the bar is well stocked.
Food is a thing here. The lunch menu is fixed but the chef plans the dinner options each day dependant on fresh seafood and veggies. The prawn and lobster risotto was to die for. The sea bream as good as you'll get. Our veg friend well catered for on request. I would have been happy with 3 meals a day there.

The all day music was fabulous. Just the right mood and volume. If you need a place to just chill for a few days this is it. Yes the old town is delightful but if it's 2 days off travel sightseeing etc you can't go past Tara's lodge.

I hope I do make it back.

Fantastic Place!

Stayed for three nights in this great boutique hotel. Welcoming staff, great rooms and nice little beach. Quick water taxi to town with Mario was a highlight for the kids. Excellent bistro on location for breakfast etc. thoroughly recommend staying here.

The perfect find for us

I was SO happy we stumbled across this option for a stunning stay in Korcula. Probably the most picturesque bay on the island, with brand new rooms in a set up that is probably best described as boutique sized resort.

My initial concern was it wasn't in old town -it's about a 30-40 min walk but frankly old town felt like a one day visit which was great to do as an easy taxi ride in (11Euros) , bike it (free bike use) or you can even get a water taxi. Good for a day trip or even go in for dinner and back again in the evenings no hassle.

We preferred the less hectic nature of this place but with still lots to do - paddle boarding every morning, perfect water to swim in directly at the front of the resort, organise a wine and island tour from there, no tourist cruise boats coming in, and Mimi's restaurant where we did 3 meals a day for 4 days without disappointment.

The best bit was as travelling with a baby we could leave bub in the room sleeping and it was within wifi monitor distance to be on the beach lounges or at the bar/restaurant - perfect! Ask for room#11 and you can even see from the restaurant to the room door, or actually I'd say several of the rooms that are on the same wifi would work.

Everyone super accommodating for families. A new place (only open a couple of seasons so far) that deserves to do damn well :)

Lunch and Beach

We just visited for the day but would love to stay at Tara's Lodge at some stage. We had a delicious lunch, fresh, great flavours and well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had the happiest day on their beach, enjoying the view and hospitality. What a little gem and so beautifully designed and finished.
